Fireflies

Welcome to Fireflies class! In Fireflies we strive for excellence daily, promote perseverance and personal growth. In preparation for the final year at Orchard Park and looking ahead to life beyond primary school, we gear our attitudes towards being independent and responsible learners, seeking out opportunities for challenge and support where needed to further our life experiences.

Presentation and originality are key to becoming independent learners, which are upheld by everyone who is a part of the Fireflies team. We also encourage collaborative learning with others, sharing and fostering new ideas in exciting new directions.

We have many extra-curricular activities that extend our learning beyond the classroom and pages of our books. History off the Page facilitate an excellent Tudor day where pupils can learn what life was like as a Tudor child. We learn to play the ukulele in music with Mr Randall, our highly experienced music teacher and benefit from a range of educational visits. These include a trip to the Ancient Greek exhibition at the Fitzwilliam Museum, identifying mathematical application of skills on a maths trail around Cambridge and a visit to the Houses of Parliament with our local MP.  This is topped off with a phenomenal and once-in-a-lifetime singing visit to the Young Voices O2 Arena show.
